I'm Count Dracula and I am defending myself from the accusation that I am responsible for the death of Lucy Westenra's death.
Why am I even here? I didn't appear since chapter 4. No proof that I am these creatures people accuse me of being.
"Tonight I can sleep in peace, and sleep I want-- two nights of travel, much reading in the day between, and much anxiety on the day to follow, and a night to sit up, without to wink." (Stoker, 122)
"'God! God! God!' he said. 'What ahve we done, what has this poor thing done, that we are so sore beset?" (Stoker, 123)
- The Doctors abandoned her
- They had too much belief in just garlic
- The mother was responsible for this near-death experience
- Lucy was greatly weakened by this experience
"I fear we are too late." (Stoker, 133)
- Doctors did not tend to a dying patient........again.
- Every time they abandon her, she gets worse; doesn't this mean it's the doctors' fault for leaving her alone?
- It was irresponsible of the Doctors to leave a patient alone even though she was getting better; she was in danger of death only a few days ago.
- It's after this, that Lucy starts to get really sick.
"How good they all are to me." (Stoker 122)
"All night long I watched by her. She never stirred, but slept on and on in a deep, tranquil, life-giving, health-giving sleep." (Stoker 117)
- The doctors may have had a good intent, but were not successful in saving their patient because they decided to leave her alone.
- Good intent cannot save a person, medical treatment do.
- They may have treated her for some days, but abandoned her numerous times.
Dr.Seward (Jenny), "Being with Lucy all the time wouldn't have prevented the wolf coming into the window" (plot described in p.131)
- How does that make me guilty?
Lawer 1, "He had robbed a woman of her life, and robbed her lover of his soulmate, thus deserving a punishment that damns him to hell."
- Stop blindly accusing me and jumping to conclusions
- Provide evidence
p.118
They dont even have an opiate to treat her
Bloodtype/RH mismatch clots blood and kills people
"A red mark on her throat... two punctures (Stoker 115)
